  The Groupement Interdisciplinaire en Sciences Sociales - Côte d'Ivoire (GIDIS-CI), is a scientific association which brings together several researchers from different fields.   C’est en 1978, en pleine période du « miracle économique ivoirien » que le Bureau National d’Etudes Techniques et de Développement ( BNETD) a été crée en Côte d’Ivoire. Il s’appelait alors Direction et contrôle des grands travaux (DCGTx). Il convient cependant de signaler qu'un premier BNETD a existé de 1964 à 1977 dirigé d'abord par Maurice BOURGES, un expatrié français ingénieur des ponts et chaussées, et ensuite par AMANGOUA Lokensy, ingénieur ivoirien du génie civil.

  The Swiss Academy of Sciences founded the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) - Swiss Scientific Research Centre - in 1951. The main objective of the centre is to support basic and applied research, according to the priorities of Côte d'Ivoire and of West Africa, and to produce results applicable to development. The research projects of the CSRS are distributed along 4 axes: - natural environment and biodiversity, nutrition and food security, parsitoses, and urbanisation. Originally conceived as a place that offers Swiss and European researchers the chance of working in a tropical country, the centre has changed over the past 10 years into an important site for research in partnership.

It also provides training in Health Sciences such as Medicine, Pharmacy and Odonto-Stomatology ; all through a common curriculum at the École préparatoire aux Sciences de la santé. The Autonomous University of Abobo-Adjamé was created in 1996.
