Sub-Saharan Africa NGO Consortium (SSA NGOC)
Background and Rationale
Over more than 3 years SSA NGO consortium was established during FARA General Assembly held in Entebbe, Uganda 06-12 June 2005 with about 35 NGO representatives from Sub-Saharan Africa and other regions. The ultimate goal of the Consortium is to mobilize NGO constituency in the region and co-ordinate and facilitate their involvement in the ARD continuum. The Consortium developed vision and mission statements, code of conduct and set-up a governance structure that has overseen its operations
Vision: An inclusive ARD system, generating appropriate innovations that result in sustainable livelihoods.
Mission: NGOs involved in ARD in Sub-Saharan African region collectively influencing agricultural research, policy and priority setting, and promoting innovative partnership approaches.
