The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) is an apex organization in Sub-Saharan Africa that plays a major advocacy role for agricultural research and development by forging strategic alliances with and between its stakeholders, the African national agricultural research systems (NARS), sub-regional organizations (SROs), the Advanced Research Institutions (ARIs), civil societies, investors and other partners, for improved food security and poverty alleviation, while safeguarding the natural resource base. FARA’s vision is for African agriculture to become vibrant and competitive in international market growing by at least 6 % per annum by the year 2020.
