KAGRC PROFILE            

The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) formerly Central Artificial Insemination Station (CAIS) was established in 1946 with the objective of controlling animal breeding diseases, and improving on animal genetics, basically cattle. In 1966, the Kenya National Artificial Insemination Services (KNAIS) was formed to expand the coverage of artificial insemination (A.I) service provision in the country due to increased demand and to prevent introduction of notifiable diseases in bulls while offering A.I services from the station.
