1.0 Introduction
The training workshop was organized jointly by the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and Southern Africa Development Community (SADC)/ Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources (FANR). It was held in Pretoria, South Africa from 5th-12th July, 2011and was attended by participants from Malawi, Mozambique, Madagascar, Lesotho, Angola and Zambia. Malawians were Mrs M.A. Mgomezulu and Gilbert Malota both from Department of Agricultural Extension Services (DAES) in Ministry of Agricultural and Food Security (MoAFS).
The facilitators were from the National Research Institute (NRI) UK; International Centre for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA), Netherlands; FARA, Ghana and SADC/FANR, Mauritius
