Women of Uganda Network-WOUGNET is a non-governmental organization initiated in May 2000 by several women’s organisations in Uganda to develop the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) among women as tools for sustainable Development.Presently, WOUGNET has over 100 women organisations as members, the majority are in urban areas and/or district towns where there is some Internet access and a few in rural areas.

In the Agrciultural sector, WOUGNET's intervention has primarily focused in Northern Uganda, working with rural women farmers in agricultural information using ICTs. Since 2005, with support from Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development - CTA, a project on " Improving Access to Agricultural Information using ICTs to Rural Women has been implemented. This project uses a combination of ICTs, which include, a community radio station, radio cassettes, mobile phones and a rural information centre. These tools are supported with community meetings and listening clubs at community level. In 2010 WOUGNET in collaboration with Food and Agricultural Oragnisation of Uganda piloted a project on Women, markets and ICTs. As part of this initiative, a solar powered rural information Centre has also been established in Amuru district, Northern Uganda.

Currently WOUGNET's agricultural projects are  carried out in the six districts of Apac, Oyam, Lira, Kole, Gulu and Amuru.WOUGNET secretariat is located in Kampala,  Kira Road Plot no 55, Kenneth Dale. www.wougnet.org.
